Hello, I’m Sophie MacKenzie, a recently turned blogger from Victoria British Columbia, Canada. Ever since I was very young I loved to play and experiment in the kitchen. For me, preparing wholesome and nutritious food became my way to show that I cared for those around me. These days, preparing plant-based meals and natural foods has become a bit of a passion! Over the last ten years I have worked in organic bakeries and cafes where I have become educated in holistic nutrition.
For me, healthy food and lifestyle is firstly about learning to listen to one’s self. Learning about what foods your body needs, wants, and desires, is the start to living healthfully. I like to encourage people to pursue their own health and take an active part in their nutrition, as nobody knows their body as well as they do. My blog, Wholehearted Eats, started as a hobby to fill the time between university and grad school, but now it has become a major part of my life. It has provided me a backdrop where I can share my knowledge, passion, and whole food recipes with a larger population. My recipes are almost all vegan, often raw, and always easy to prepare.
